The keeping quality of the material Second discussion lead by photo journalist Pim Milo with photo restorer Clara von Waldthausen, custodian Caspar Martens and photographer/artist Henk Tas on the perishability of film, paper and pixels. Who is to say how our photos in the clouset and on the wall, at home and in the museum will end? With the new digital techniques they are said to keep forever. But will they?

Moderated by journalist Pim Milo, professionals from the world of art and photography will discuss the perishability of film, paper and pixels. What is the expiry date for photographs in files and on the wall, at home and in a museum? With new digital techniques it would seem that deterioration is a thing of the past. But is that so?

Poets at Noorderlicht
Ten poets wrote a poem in response to a photograph from the exhibition Traces & Omens. On Saturday September 17th they will read their poems in the Der Aa-kerk.
The poems and photographs are collected in a booklet (Dutch) published by Aurora Borealis, Noorderlicht's own publishing house, in cooperation with Groningen's buro05, which is organizing the small poetry marathon. Among the poets participating are Hanz Mirck, Anneke Claus, Daniël Dee, Stefan Nieuwenhuis, Tsead Bruinja and Bart FM Droog. |
