Photobook fair
On Sunday, 7 September publishers and dealers from the Netherlands and abroad once again present their newest publications, old and special books, and standard volumes. During the entire festival a bookstore will also be set up the Der Aa-Kerk, location of the 'Global Detail' show.

Noorderlicht lectures
What are the effects of globalisation on photography? Do the ethical boundaries of the medium shift? What does the visual culture of the internet hold in store for author's rights? How does the passion of a collector relate to the photograph as commodity? Will the digital archive of the future monopolize the image? These subjects are the focus of a lecture range that Noorderlicht organises during the festival.

Store Windows
For five weeks, Groningen will be immersed in photography. On the occasion of the tenth edition of the festival, in a large number of shop windows in the city centre a choice from the festival offerings can be seen. Walk through the Herestraat, Guldenstraat, Folkingestraat, Stoeldraaierstraat, A-straat, Poelestraat, Oosterstraat, Oude and Nieuwe Ebbingestraat and surrounding the Grote Markt, and get a taste of that Noorderlicht atmosphere!

Railway station project
In co-operation with Dutch railways, Noorderlicht organises the photoproject The Escape over the next few months, a range of travelling shows in the trainstations halls of Groningen, Leeuwarden and Assen. The Escape combines work of national and international photographers in a surprising presentation. This range will be continued next year, in trainstations spread all over the country.

This project was made possible by NS Dutch Railways, Stork Worksphere and DRL
