Serge van Duijnhoven, essayist, pleads for a separation between ethics and eshetics, between autonomous photography and photographic reporting.

Philip Jones Griffiths, Magnum-photographer, photographed in Vietnam in the late sixties.

Serge van Duijnhoven casts doubt on misleading photography: he emphasises the courage and professionality that photojornalist must possess on the frontline, to be able to fullfill their task. The distance often seen in photojournalistic imagery, according to him has a lot to do with selfpreservation of the journalists, both physically and emotionally.

Magnum-photographer Philip Jones Griffiths will bring the theory to life this evening, by sharing his experience in Vietnam with us. His series 'Vietnam Inc' can be seen at the anniversary exhibition 'The Homage'.
